Activity monitoring

One of RePaZ’s main missions is to centralize information, avoid the reduplication of efforts, and, ultimately, to facilitate research. This mission inscribed within a dynamic of collaboration. RePaZ leans upon a network of institutional partners across several countries, with the goal of sharing knowledge and supporting scientific cooperation.

Cartography of research projects

RePaZ monitors and inventories active research projects related to material cultural heritage in crisis contexts. The objective is not only documentary: by making initiatives visible, the unit contributes to avoiding redundant work and financing, which tends to naturally concentrate on better-known or more easily accessed sites. Other examples of heritage—less visible, less emblematic, sometimes more vulnerable—risks escaping study. This cartography also allows one to identify lacunae in existing research, to orient effort to where it is most needed.
